Located on beautiful Lake Kawagama in Algonquin Highlands and only 10km outside of Dorset, our three bedroom cottage is warm and welcoming. Large windows looking out at the tree's and water, lots of boating, ATV trails, fishing, hiking, swimming and outdoor activities. Kayaks and a peddle boat, board games, some books, cards and unlimited internet and television with netflix are available for entertainment. Large barbecue, stove, cooking utensils and spices are here for the chef to enjoy.

  Great place to stay

  
  This cottage is beautiful, located on a lake, with a spectacular view.
  
  The hosts are very responsive and amazingly sympathetic.
  
  Everything was clean, as described.
  
  Maybe just take into consideration the necessity to have winter tires (as a minimum) to access the cottage with downhills and uphills that could be very tricky with ice and snow. But it's worth it !
  
  We were 7, so maybe 7 chairs could be better to all sit on the beautiful wooden table, and maybe 7 towels also.
  
  If you consider working a bit, the wifi may be a bit too slow as it sometimes stops. We sadly couldn't use Netflix properly.
  
  But the wood stove and the view are enough to enjoy evenings.
  
  Highly recommended.

  New Years getaway

  
  Our family decided to have a New Years' get away from the loud city and spend a weekend for the New Year up north in a cottage. We have found a very nice cottage in a very secluded area that has met the criteria. The view from the cottage is spectacular. The sun would rise and warm your heart. In the evening we would spend the time by the fireplace and drink our hot chocolate. I would very much recommend this place to stay and have your own getaway from the noisy cities.

  If you are looking for something remote, comfortable and with a great view, this is it.
  
  This cute little cottage sits at the top of a fairly steep hill and you are required to drive through a windy narrow gravel road. It was absolutely amazing to drive through during the peak colour season. Be sure to be respectful and drice the posted speed limit.
  
  The cottage comes fully equipped for your kitchen needs, perhaps just bring your spices for cooking/baking. There is an easy to use double oven (awesome), microwave, slow cooker, air fryer , dishwasher and functional fridge with ice cube trays (yay), as well as many other things. The bedrooms had very comfortable mattresses and clean sheets/comfortable, and they smelled amazing. They were a decent size though on the smaller side. No complaints here. All rooms had a dresser or shelves to store your belongings. The house comes well equipped with many things, toilet paper, cottage instructions on how to dispose of waste and recycling (1 pass provided so be mindful), paper towel etc. The livingroom had 2 comfortable sitting areas with comfy throw blankets for cuddling up. And let's nit forget the view from the couches let alone anywhere in the living area. There is a separate area with the wood stove and futon. Also has a great view and the wood stove was easy to use, especially with the video instructions provided by the host. This was perfect on the chilly nights to help warm up the home.. The home can be heated via propane and it works wonderfully.
  
  The deck has a wonderful sitting area and a large BBQ for your use. And the view! Just below the deck is a sitting area where you can sit by the fire. And the view! If you go down to the lake there are 2 sitting areas, one for a fire and another on the floating dock for fishing and to admire The View. water toys available to enjoy a cruise around the lake. please be careful descending the stairs and making your way to the docks. Not for the faint of heart. Going back up is a bit tougher for those of us not in the best of shape.
  
  Neighbors were friendly and not a bother. The host had an amazing response time and assisted when we thought we were lost (area has spots without cell service). We didn't encounter any wifi issues.
  
  10/10 would recommend. We truly enjoyed our week at Ryan's place.
  
  Note: Cloesest gas/groceries is Robinson's & Shell which is about 15 mins from the cottage. Huntsville is about 40 mins away and Algonquin approximately the same. Screaming Heads was worth the drive (1 hour; 30 mins from Huntsville). Dorest Tower was a cool lil visit just note during peak colour season you must book in advance, same as Algonquin but we thought it was completely worth it (just go early to avoid the crazy crowds).

  The home was spotless! It had every kitchen utensils you could ask for! The view was out of this world! The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. It is set in the woods, which we loved!

  Beautiful cottage, with many thoughtful touches.
  
  Comfortable, spotlessly clean and welcoming with wonderful views from the inside and outside.
  
  We had a perfectly relaxing week. Spent the days swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and relaxing on the various outside sitting areas. And the evenings barbecuing, stargazing and sitting by a fire.
  
  The host was accommodating and quick to respond to questions.
  
  Our stay couldn’t have been better and we look forward to coming back soon.

  We loved it and we will be back! The beds were super comfy and the blankets were amazing. Beautiful bay and waterfront. Steps not for the faint of heart! I got my cardio! Great amenities in the kitchen. Wonderful afternoon sun. The Woodstove was perfect for cool evenings. Quiet area. Great Lake trout fishing. Neighbours were great. Water was clear. Dock is excellent. Very clean. Can’t wait to return for some fall fishing! Thanks to Ryan for being so attentive!

  Wonderful clean cozy cottage with everything you need

  
  We had a great experience staying at this cottage. It’s located in a lovely wooded area right on a lake, and the host was friendly helpful and easy to reach. They provide everything you need and the wood stove is a nice touch! They even left a Christmas tree up , which my 2 year old (and myself if I’m honest) , were pleased to see! We’re definitely considering booking for the summer when we can swim off the dock and use the kayaks !

  Lovely property, very well stocked, you would find wverything that you might require at the cottage. The falls colors were even morw beautiful at this location than the algonquin park when we visited in the 3rd week of Oct. The water in the lake is clean and safefor swimming although we coudnt as the water was cold, we did thorougly enjoy the kayaking and peddle boating. The only downside is not too many restairants closeby for dinners, however there is a general store robinsons about 15 mins away where tou can buy ready to heat stuff or enough options to cook something sumptious on you own at thw cottage if you are upto it. I would definitely visit the propwety again and would highly recommend you to visit ... best value for money and time...

  A tranquil, beautiful spot for a true escape. The cabin is very clean and exactly as pictured. The bedrooms are cozy and beds comfortable. View from the living room and deck simply lovely. We enjoyed the wood stove with the window for viewing the fire. (10 dollars a basket of wood seems fair) We cooked all our meals in the well-provisioned kitchen. Ryan was a super-responsive host!!

  It was great cottage in a fantastic and beautiful area. Very clean and well-maintained, with a welcoming touch. It had everything we needed for our week-long stay (bedding, kitchen appliances and tools, etc.). The owners were very nice, and provided detailed instructions covering everything you could need. Especially on how to get there – very clear directions!

  This well appointed cottage is on White Trout Bay. The lake is quiet and scenic, and the cottage has everything you need. We particularly enjoyed using the kayaks and pedal boat. We're already planning to return next summer.

  Very nice place with everything one may need: clean and spacious house, nice view of the lake, multiple places to sit and read a book or talk with friends, comfortable mattresses to have a very good sleep. Ryan is the perfect host. Although we did not meet him, he was very helpful and we had good communication.

  Our stay at this cottage was a huge bonus last minute family getaway. We have 2 little ones and they loved everything about the little red house. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s located deep into the forest with access to the water for kayaking (provided) or just enjoying sunrises/sunsets.
  
  The cottage was spotless, though a bit older, including a hotel feel with the immaculate white sheets and towels. It was nice to have wifi access to share all of the beautiful photos with family, so great if someone needs to work while away. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc so we could make all of our meals.
  
  There’s a lovely upper deck that’s wonderful for outdoor family meals, then a fire pit a bit lower down, with wood available for purchase, a lower fire pit and then the waterfront deck with seating as well. There are quite a few stairs so take note If there are mobility issues. They’re in great condition but a good workout for sure. Our son enjoyed the sandpit area for digging, some toys were also available for use, as well as a slide. If you’re adventurous, take the kayaks out to the open lake (about 7-10min) there’s a lovely little island marked with a flag that was an absolute treat for a romantic breakfast picnic. It’s easy to get out of the kayaks as there’s a mini pebble beach area around it. The morning swim was so refreshing!
  
  The cottage deck area doesn’t have a beach with gradual entry into the water for younger kids, but Ryan suggested Dwight beach which was an absolute hit for the family. It’s about 25 min away but totally worth it with a very well maintained beach and sparkling clean water.
  
  Great stay all around. Thanks for a lovely mini vacation!
